OUR ETHOS

To be an enthusiastic teacher who loves to support, challenge and break glass ceilings with our young people.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND HOW WE GOT STARTED

I am an enthusiastic teacher who loves to support, challenge and break glass ceilings with the young people I teach. I have tutored for several years now and I dearly miss helping my tutees and watching their confidence grow in English. I have taught in many schools around the country, ranging from: Private, Grammar and Secondary Comprehensive schools. Through my years of experience, I've seen how a school functions as a permanent member of staff and as a supply teacher and have seen the way many different schools track and encourage progress. This has allowed me to help students makes quick progress in a short space of time. My passion with the tutees can't helped but be shared, especially when they both amaze and are amazed by their own progress. After moving around the country, I realised there was a pattern with the skills students lacked, regardless of ability. This prompted me to create worksheets with more focused questions and examples which have been tested with different cohorts across the UK. What was their feedback? The results each time were: the students found them challenging, liked that they were being pushed and were able to deepen their understanding of close-reading skills.

My experience of working with young people has allowed me to access where a child needs help and directly target those areas of development. As I mentioned previously, I enjoy sharing the progress with: tutees, parents and schools alike because I truly believe we need to work as a unit in order for a young person to succeed. Seeing a child become confident and progress makes my job worthwhile and reminds me why I came into teaching!

    HOW DO THE RESOURCES HELP?

Our resources help students to keep the mark schemes at the forefront of their minds when analysing texts. Regardless of the exam board our resources will help to push students to the next grade boundary.

Whether your child is familiar with (point, evidence, analysis):
    PEA,
    PEAEA,
    PEALIWI or PETER paragraphs

The underlying methods are the same: to explore language in more depth and essentially explain why the writer has used specific language devices with any other contextual influences.
